A long overdue self-made mix. This summer has been filled with songs that represent the swag mentality. From young Kreayshawn to Childish Gambino and of course, Kanye+Jay-Z in Watch The Throne, these songs give off an aire of not caring. Silliness is key to all of these songs. Wildfire is by far a winner, especially with Drake rapping over it. The question is, will it go mainstream? It is my hope that these songs, as Will Farrell so eloquently puts it, "Gets the People Going".
Its been awhile. Oops. Hoodie Allen has since blown up and its hard to imagine that he debut only a year ago (last June) with his cover of Marina and the Diamonds. Hoodie released a new mixtape: Leap Year. Here Hoodie comes in with #whitegirlproblems, playing on the ever so popular twitter trend. Of course it was a hit on hypem. But let us not forget "Every Time You Go", a song that shows that hes more then just one of the many teenage-college rapper/mashup artists. Here he samples a surprising but catchy choice: Ellie Gouldings' Every Time You Go, a song I blogged about in Winter '10...
I post music. good music. Streams and videos of upcoming electronic, remix and indie artists.
More music. less sleeve, more party?
